Lessons Along the Way

I’ve spent twenty‑five years as a computer programmer and twenty‑two years as a homeowner, and every one of those years has taught me something — sometimes the hard way, sometimes the funny way, and sometimes in ways I didn’t appreciate until much later.

This space is where I share the stories that shaped me. Not advice. Not instructions. Just real moments from a real life — the wins, the mistakes, the lessons, and the things I wish someone had told me sooner.

I group my stories into three parts of my world:

Family life — the messy, meaningful, unpredictable heart of everything
Maintenance — the things a house teaches you when you’re not paying attention
Career — twenty‑five years of building, breaking, fixing, and figuring it out
